Camp Staff

Senior Staff Senior staff members and activity counselors are qualified teachers and individuals with expertise in specific program areas. Their experiences give your child proper direction and learning skills necessary for a happy camping day. Junior Staff The Junior Staff members are 18 year old high school graduates and have successfully completed our Counselor-In-Training program. They are under the direct supervision of the Senior Staff.

Staff Aides
A Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program is offered to 15 and 16 year olds who have been enrolled at CAMP SUNRISE for at least one summer. The program is limited to candidates approved by the staff. The purpose of the program is to give high school students the opportunity to experience more responsibility and to develop future counselors.

Location

Our campsite is located in the Town of Scituate on Old Kent Road. The camp consists of a large tract of meadow land, beautifully wooded paths, a bright sandy beach, river frontage for boating, several buildings used for indoor and inclement weather activities, as well as an olympic size pool, modern showers and restroom facilities.

Transportation

Transportation is provided for Day Camp and Riding Academy. See schedule on Transportation page.

Health and Safety

Camp Sunrise operates in accordance with the State requirements for summer camps. The drinking water is tested and the pool facilities are approved by the State Health Department. A nurse is on staff to monitor the health of our campers, and parents are notified of any problems that are serious in nature. Every effort is made to ensure the safety and well-being of each camper. All water activities are conducted by Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors and Senior Life Savers. All campers are insured against injury.
